Looking for ways to help?

Thank you for you interest in helping hurting kids! The following is a detailed description of some of the valuable volunteer positions always needing to be filled:

 Camp Counselor

Counselor and KidFor every counselor willing to spend the entire week at camp, another camper is able to attend. Training is mandatory. Counselors arrive at camp the day before the campers to prepare the cabins and welcome the campers as they arrive. Each counselor is responsible for 2 campers in order to provide the very best care for our campers.

Staff
LifeguardThe different areas involved with being on staff include drama, music, woodshop, beading, t-shirt painting, dress-up, sports/outdoor activities, and counselor support throughout the week. While the counselors spend most of their time with their 2 assigned campers, staff members have the opportunity to interact with more of the kids. Training is also mandatory.

Registration
NurseThose assisting with registration do not attend camp but are vital in welcoming our campers to this new experience. They will assist the director and other staff in checking campers in and loading them onto the bus. Many kids are often nervous and frightened and your smiling face will be the first one they see, before they even drive up to the camp.

Birthday Party
Birthday ClownOne night of the week, we celebrate every child's birthday with a party in their honor. Past parties have included pony rides, astrojumps, inflated obstacle courses, balloons, clowns, petting zoo, cookie decorating, slip-and-slide, and fun birthday games. Of course there is always cake, ice cream and even a present just for them! More help is always needed with all these events going on. Birthday party volunteers are prizes, driving up to camp just for the night of the party.

Welcome Home Dinner

Happy ChefAfter a very exhausting but rewarding week at camp, staff and counselors are oftentimes emotionally drained, especially after having to say goodbye to their campers. The Welcome Home Dinner is a catered “thank you” meal for all the volunteers, giving them the opportunity to share stories and talk about some positive memories of their own. Volunteers for the dinner are needed to serve the meal, decorate/set up, and clean up. Training is unnecessary and it's a great way to be a part of camp without spending the week away.
